Digital Desk: Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations stated in a report that India’s non-alcoholic beverages market is predicted to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 8.7% to Rs 1.47 trillion by 2030, up from around Rs 671 billion in 2019.
According to the comprehensive analysis, the market size was expected to be Rs 67,100 crore in 2019, with realistic projections of around Rs 1,472.33 billion and Rs 1, 47,233 crores in 2030.
Carbonated soft drinks (CSDs), ready-to-drink teas (RTDs), energy drinks, and sports drinks accounted for more than 60% of the worldwide market in India. Carbonated beverages, bottled water, fruit beverages, and juices are the most popular beverages among Indians.
The government should also focus on improving farmers' income through the use of fruit pulp, puree, and juices and tax fruit-based beverages and juices, according to the research. Moreover, as per the analysis, the government will be able to contribute to global beverage production by increasing farmer earnings.
Although India is the world's greatest supplier of raw materials for the creation of non-alcoholic beverages, around 25-30 percent of the fruits and vegetables produced in the country are still lost in the supply chain, according to Deepak Mishra, director, and chief executive of Icrier. The report further stated that if people choose to follow a healthy routine, production will soon reach a particular level.
