A supermoon was visible in the sky shortly after dawn, although it will be brightest at...

Digital Desk: With the appearance of a rare supermoon, the sky is witnessing a once-in-a-lifetime manifestation. While the supermoon is best seen just after sunrise, it is still visible at its brightest at 9:30 p.m. This is the closest we'll get to a full moon this year, far closer than the one on August 1st.

When the sun sets, the bright planet Saturn will be visible, gleaming around 5 degrees above and to the right of the moon.

According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Saturn will appear to move in a circle around the moon as the night progresses.

Below are the best times to view it:

- On August 30, the Blue Moon will shine brightly at 9:30 p.m. IST.

- The Blue Super Moon will peak around 7:30 a.m. on August 31.

- The Super Blue Moon will be seen in the Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) zone on August 30 at approximately 8:37 p.m.

- The moon will rise later in Europe. It will rise at 8:08 p.m. in London and 7:45 p.m. in New York. At 8:37 p.m. EDT, the full moon will illuminate the night sky.

This spectacular event allows everyone to take in the breathtaking splendour of the sky.

Don't miss this supermoon if you missed the first one this month. According to Italian astronomer Gianluca Masi, the leader of the Virtual Telescope Project, we won't see another blue supermoon until 2037.
