Digital Desk: An IndiGo flight carrying several Assam political leaders made an emergency landing at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBI) on Tuesday after reporting a technical glitch, according to reports. 

According to the information received, the IndiGo flight had departed from Guwahati's Borjhar airport but returned to make an emergency landing shortly after takeoff.

Reportedly, Assam cabinet ministers Bimal Bora and Ranjeet Kumar Dass, as well as MLA Naba Kumar Doley, were on the flight, which was also carrying hundreds of other passengers.

The flight experienced an issue shortly after takeoff and was forced to return to the airport. As per reports, the IndiGo flight numbered 6E-2652 was headed for Dibrugarh.

Meanwhile, it has come to light that the same aircraft had previously reported another technical glitch and had to make a similar emergency landing prior to this incident.

The airline has yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
