Digital Desk: Over 40 people were seriously injured in a bus accident that occurred on Tuesday morning at Chapar in Assam's Dhubri district.

The accident occurred on National Highway 17 near Haitpota village, where the passenger bus with the registration number 'AS 25 BC 1860' lost control and collided with a tree on the side of the road.

According to sources, the bus was traveling at a high speed, and due to heavy rain, the driver lost control and hit a tree.

Fortunately, no fatalities had been reported at the time this report was submitted.

Following the incident, local police arrived on the scene and sent all injured people to the Chapar Primary Health Centre for treatment. Others who had serious injuries were sent to a hospital in Bongaigaon.
