The court ordered the police to present video footage of the entire incident and rescheduled the case for June 28.

Digital Desk: On Monday, a police official testified in Mumbai's Andheri Magistrate Court that social media influencer Sapna Gill's allegations against Indian batsman Prithvi Shaw were false and unsubstantiated. Shaw allegedly groped Gill in a pub on February 15, this year.

Sapna Gill filed a case against the Mumbai Airport police in the Andheri Magistrate Court when no FIR was filed on her allegation against Shaw. Gill had filed a FIR at the Andheri court through her lawyer, Ali Kaashif Khan. After hearing her complaint, the magistrate ordered the police to file a report on the matter.

Following the submission of the police report, Khan asked the court to allow him to show the video evidence of the purported brawl that Gill's buddy had captured on his phone. The video quickly went popular on social media. He also requested a CCTV recording of the incident outside the pub.

The court ordered the police to present video footage of the entire incident and rescheduled the case for June 28.

Gill had filed a complaint with an Andheri magistrate court, seeking the registration of a FIR under IPC sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (Word, gesture, or act intended to insult a woman's modesty), and 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) against Shaw and his friend Ashish Yadav for assaulting her with a bat.

According to police, an analysis of the pub's CCTV footage showed Gill and her friend Shobit Thakur were inebriated and dancing.

Thakur intended to film Shaw on his phone, but the cricketer prevented him from doing so. According to the authorities, after reviewing the video, it does not appear that Shaw and others molested Gill in any way.

Police also noted that they had recorded testimonies from witnesses present in the tavern where the alleged event occurred, and the witnesses stated that no one inappropriately touched Gill.

According to the police, they also investigated CCTV footage from the nearby Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, which shows the social media influencer following Shaw's car with a baseball bat in her hand. According to the video, she cracked the windscreen of the cricketer's car.

The report also stated that police recorded comments from Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officials, who also stated that no such incident occurred as described by Gill.

A CISF official stated that they were notified of a scuffle in the neighbourhood. When he arrived, he noticed a car with a smashed windscreen. According to the report, when questioned, the car's driver stated that an argument had broken out inside the pub and the manager had asked them to leave and that he wanted to file an FIR.

The officer noticed a woman with a baseball bat. When they spotted police arriving, her male friend snatched the bat from her and tossed it to the side. According to the story, none of the males on the scene were attacking the woman, citing a CISF official's testimony.

According to police, the inquiry performed in response to Gill's complaint indicated that the claims against Prithvi Shaw and others are false/unfounded.

Gill was detained in February on Shaw's accusation following an argument at a suburban hotel about selfies. After obtaining release, Gill filed a case against Shaw at the Mumbai Airport police station for claimed molestation and insulting modesty.
