Ajmal said that Hindus have a problem because their population is not growing at the same rate as Muslims...

Digital Desk: Making extremely shocking comments, AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal said today that Hindus must marry off their daughters between the ages of 18 and 20 in order to "follow the Muslim formula of population expansion." Ajmal said that Hindus have a problem because their population is not growing at the same rate as Muslims.

Ajmal stated, "Hindus do not marry at the appropriate age; they have 2-3 affairs but they don't marry. They marry at the age of 40, under family pressure; tell me how they will reproduce?" (Hindu sahi umar mein shaadi nahi karta, 40 saal tak 2-3 illegal biwiyan rakhta hai, fir shayad family ke pressure mein shaadi kar le, batao, bacche kahan se hongi.)

"Girls in our community get married as soon as they turn 18. It is permitted by the Indian government. Boys marry the moment they turn 22. This is the reason why our population is growing," Ajmal said in a video.

He further added, "Hindus should also adopt the Muslim formula of marrying off their daughters at the age of 18, Banjar zameer pe kheti nahi hoti, fertile zameen pe hoti hai."

Warning from BJP leaders to Ajmal

The state's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party strongly reacted to Ajmal's controversial remarks.

Assam BJP MLA D Kalita issued a strong warning to Ajmal for his statements.

"You are putting allegations against your mother and sister by making such comments. I denounce it and warn you not to do it unless you travel to Bangladesh. Hindus will not tolerate it. Don't stoop so low for politics and sell your mother and sister; don't trample on their dignity," Kalita said.

"We're Hindus and you're a Muslim. Should we learn from you? It is the land of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita. Bangladeshis are not welcome here. Muslims don't have to teach us anything," said Assam BJP MLA D Kalita.
