The decision was taken at the governing body meeting on Saturday at the law college...

Digital Desk: Rahul Chetry, the main offender in the Dibrugarh University ragging episode, has been dismissed with immediate effect from J.B. Law College in Guwahati.

The decision was made at the law college's governing board meeting on Saturday.

Rahul Chetry was a J.B. Law College LLB third-semester student.

According to the college's notification, "Rahul Chetry moved to the Dibrugarh University and is alleged to be involved in the atrocious actions of ragging junior students, causing both physical and emotional grievous pain." The administration has already proclaimed him an absconder, and he has yet to produce any document or other form of a statement defending himself."

Notably, Anand Sharma, a first-semester university student, jumped from the third storey of a hostel building to avoid ragging. Rahul Chetry has been missing since the incident occurred.

On the other hand, 22 university students have been expelled for their apparent involvement in the case.
