Digital Desk: A shocking incident took place on July 11 at Patupathar, Lumding, when a man set fire to his own house following a family dispute.
Sanjay Das, son of Bablu Das, reportedly consumed alcohol after his wife did not return home, leading to a violent outburst.
In a fit of rage, Sanjay set his house ablaze and destroyed properties. He also caused damage to another residence of the nearby area.
Sanjay attempted to attack his parents with a stick and a machete, prompting local residents to intervene into the matter.
The community nabbed the man and handed him over to the police.
Firefighters arrived on the scene and successfully extinguished the fire, preventing further destruction.
The police have detained Sanjay Das and taken him into custody for further investigation.
