MI may ask Hardik to replace Archer on the team before taking over as captain from Rohit...

Digital Desk: Hardik Pandya is expected to return to the Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League in 2024. The captain of the Gujarat Titans might be moving to the five-time champions team in what could be the greatest transaction in the league's history.

According to Cricketnext.com, Pandya's return to MI might be a direct swap of captains, which implies that Rohit Sharma, who is currently playing for GT, or Jofra Archer could make way for the all-rounder before he becomes Mumbai Indians' captain in 2025.

However, for the MI fan base, it will be difficult to see Rohit's back after leading the organisation to five trophies.

MI may ask Hardik to replace Archer on the team before taking over as captain from Rohit.

Hardik began his IPL career with Mumbai and was a part of four championship teams in 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.

He joined Gujarat in 2022 and led them to the title in his first season as captain. Pandya will also be a franchise finalist in 2023.

Furthermore, the IPL transfer window closes on November 26.
