Ambulance services in the national capital are charging Rs 10,000 for 4km to carry critical Covid-19 patients to healthcare facilities. Pre-covid, the cost of ambulance use in Delhi was Rs 500 for the first 5 km and then Rs 50-60/km after that.

Amid the second wave of COVID-19 , doctors and nurses are putting their lives out to save patients live. Hospitals are overburden and there is a huge shortage of ambulance services, medical oxygen cylinders and medical supplies at the current scenario of the virus. Few people, instead of helping others, are exploiting them in their misery.

The ambulance service providers in Delhi are allegedly forcing the suffering people to line up with heavy burdens of surge of price.

“Ten thousand rupees for a distance of four kms. Ambulance rental in Delhi. The world is watching us today. Not only the devastation but also our normal values.” IPS officer Arun Bothra shared a receipt given by DK Ambulance Service. A payment of Rs 10,000 to take a patient from Pitampura to Fortis Hospital, a 4km distance.
