Digital Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested 13 individuals in Pune, Maharashtra, in connection to an ISIS terror conspiracy case.

The arrests followed raids at 44 locations in Maharashtra and Karnataka, part of an investigation into a plot by ISIS to carry out terror attacks across India.

NIA conducted searches in Karnataka, Pune, Thane Rural, Thane city, and Bhayandar.

The anti-terror agency collaborated closely with the police forces of Maharashtra and Karnataka during these operations.

The NIA has been actively working to thwart the plans of terrorist groups, aiming to spread violence in India.

The arrested individuals were involved in a criminal conspiracy, pledging allegiance to proscribed terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda and ISIS, forming a terrorist gang.

ISIS's primary objective is to establish a Caliphate through engaging in terrorist activities globally, including in India. The arrests underscore the ongoing efforts to combat and neutralize threats posed by extremist ideologies and terrorist networks within the country.
