  • Three modern Anganwadi Centres were inaugurated in Assam's Jalukbari constituency on Wednesday, designed to foster a healthy and nurturing environment for young children

In a significant boost to early childhood care and education, three newly constructed Model Anganwadi Centres were officially opened in the Jalukbari Assembly constituency this Wednesday. These state-of-the-art facilities aim to provide children with a stimulating, healthy, and child-friendly environment right from their formative years.

The centres, developed under a special initiative spearheaded by Jalukbari MLA and Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, are strategically located across the constituency. One centre is situated in Garbhanga, under Azara Gaon Panchayat, near the Assam-Meghalaya border, addressing the needs of children in a crucial border area. Another facility has been established at Chakardo, in the vicinity of the ecologically sensitive Deepor Beel, while the third is located in Gumeibari, within the Majirgaon Gaon Panchayat.

The inauguration underscores the government's commitment to strengthening the foundational stages of learning and development. These Model Anganwadi Centres are equipped to offer comprehensive services, including supplementary nutrition, non-formal pre-school education, health check-ups, and referral services, all crucial for the holistic growth of young children.

The initiative aligns with broader efforts across the state to enhance early childhood care. Such centres play a pivotal role in preparing children for formal schooling, ensuring they have the necessary cognitive and social skills. This development is expected to significantly benefit families in these regions by providing accessible and quality early childhood services.
