Laskar succumbed to his injuries despite...

Digital DeskA vicious stray dog attack in the Jorhat district of Assam claimed the life of a man on Monday night. The victim, Islamuddin Laskar was attacked by a pack of stray dogs on a busy road near Gurukul School at Gohain Tekela village.

Locals didn't spot Laskar until the next morning when he fell unconscious at the spot. For emergency medical aid, he was taken to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH). However, later that evening Laskar succumbed to his injuries despite the physicians' best endeavors.

This has caused a degree of alarm among the people of the Gohain Tekela village as the number of stray dogs is on the increase. Several claim that because of the rise in the number of stray animals, attacks have increased, and the community has become insecure, especially in the Gurukul school area. Local officials are, therefore, being urged to take immediate steps to resolve the matter once and for all.
