Digital Desk: A teacher was apprehended following a violent confrontation with a police patrol team in Hatiyekhowa area of Kaliabor.
The incident occurred late at night under the jurisdiction of the Uluani Police Station.
The accused, identified as Satya Baruah, was reportedly discovered in a suspicious situation inside a vehicle with a woman during a routine night patrol.
When the three-member police team approached the vehicle to investigate, Satya Baruah allegedly turned aggressive and launched a physical assault on the officers.
Vijay Krishna Das, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Uluani Police Station, sustained injuries during the confrontation.
The teacher's aggressive outburst also resulted in significant damage to a police firearm.
Following the altercation, police successfully overpowered and detained Satya Baruah.
He is currently in custody as further investigations into the incident are underway.
