The Assam government intends to build a corridor at the Kamakhya Temple along the lines of Varanasi's Kashi-Vishwanath Temple Corridor.

Digital Desk: Assam proposes to create a corridor at the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati, local residents are concerned that some stores will be removed to make way for the construction.

According to sources, an administration team has already begun measuring the land for the corridor's development. The residents also asked the government to create the corridor without causing any problems for the locals.

The temple management committee met with the district collector today to discuss the proposal further, and people were urged to cooperate with the administration.

Previously, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma published a four-minute video on his official Twitter account showing how the refurbished Maa Kamakhya corridor will appear in the near future.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also tweeted about the development, calling it a historic initiative.
