Digital Desk: Tridip Kumar Konwar, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Kamrup Metropolitan district, has passed away, leaving the administrative community in deep mourning. He was 47 years old and a native of Sivasagar. Konwar had joined the civil services on December 5, 2016, and was known for his dedication to public service.

On 10th July, at around 3:30 PM, Konwar allegedly attempted suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the Magistrate Colony quarters near Guwahati Club. The incident was confirmed by the Latasil Police, and they were on the scene promptly. He was taken to the Nemcare Hospital in critical condition and he was under intensive care. He eventually died of his injuries despite all the efforts on the side of the medical team.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Konwar possibly might have had some mental health problems, but there is no official explanation as to what led him to do it. His family, however, has not accepted the suicide angle.

This untimely, tragic death of a respected officer has sent shockwaves through the administrative circles and the wider community.
