Digital Desk: A passenger ferry traveling from Dhubri was dramatically stranded in the middle of the Brahmaputra River after being caught in a sudden, violent storm. The weather had suddenly changed drastically as the sky was covered by black clouds and strong winds swept across the river, forcing the ferry, which had more than 200 passengers on board, to continue its travel.

Reacting swiftly to the unfolding situation, the captain of the ferry quickly responded to the emerging situation and guided the craft towards the bank of a nearby river to guarantee the safety of all the people on board the ferry. Passengers remained on the ferry as it waited for the storm to subside.

Once the weather calmed and conditions were deemed safe, the ferry resumed its journey. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and all passengers reached their destination safely.

The incident highlights out the unpredictable nature of riverine travel during the monsoon season and the need for improved safety measures along the Brahmaputra.
