Digital Desk: The CEO of Tesla Inc., Elon Musk, has become Twitter Inc's new owner. Soon after the takeover, the self-described free speech absolutist ousted key employees, including CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and legal affairs and policy chief Vijaya Gadde, causing social media to explode with outrage.

Among all of this, a fan posted if Elon Musk would restore actress Kangana Ranaut's Twitter account, which was suspended last year for violating the platform's hateful and abusive conduct rules. On Friday, she took to Instagram to praise Musk's takeover and re-shared a fan's post. After backing Musk's reply to Kanye West's tweet on her Instagram Stories, Kangana shared a Vanity Fair post on the new Twitter owner.

Musk, the world's richest man, made an unsolicited USD 44 billion acquisition offer in April, as per reports. Notably, Musk's acquisition comes at a time when India is preparing to change IT legislation to allow for the establishment of grievance appellate committees that would be able to review content moderation decisions made by social media companies such as Twitter and Meta.

There have been claims that internet platforms are arbitrarily removing content and 'de-platforming.'

The development of government-appointed grievance appellate panels in the next few weeks and months will provide users with a powerful grievance appeal process in the form of appellate committees. The panels will look into appeals filed by individuals against decisions of grievance officers of social media platforms.
