The villagers have asked the minister to assist in settling the conflict during his visit to the area on Tuesday.


Digital Desk: Karnataka minister, Anand Singh is being investigated by police for reportedly threatening a family over a land dispute, after which some of the family members made an attempt to commit suicide.

Following a complaint by D Polappa, a case was opened under the Prevention of Atrocities Against SC-ST Act and the pertinent provisions of the Indian Penal Code against the Tourism, Ecology and Environment Minister and three other individuals.

The case was a land dispute between Polappa, a member of the Scheduled Caste, and a community. According to Polappa's accusation, the Minister threatened to "burn the entire family."

On Tuesday night, Ponnappa and five additional family members arrived near the police station. They all made an effort to self-immolate. They were saved by the police and sent to the hospital.

The villagers have asked the minister to assist in settling the conflict during his visit to the area on Tuesday.

Polappa said in his complaint that the Minister had threatened to set his family ablaze.

The complainant and five of his relatives made their way close to the Hospet rural police station on Tuesday night. They all attempted self-immolation. However, according to authorities, they were saved and transferred to a hospital.

They claimed that Polappa and five other people had a complaint filed against them for attempting suicide.
