Digital Desk: Authorities at the Burhapahar Range of Kaziranga National Park have finalised comprehensive preparations to tackle the impending monsoon floods.
Given the annual severity of flooding in the region, the forest department has proactively implemented strategic measures to safeguard wildlife and manage highway safety.
Range Officer Nilay Bora confirmed that essential rescue equipment, including traditional boats, life jackets, and motorboats have been deployed and is ready for immediate use.
Furthermore, forest personnel have undergone specialised training and remain on high alert to ensure a rapid response during emergency rescue operations.
A primary focus this year is the protection of wild animals migrating across the national highway to reach higher ground.
To prevent accidents, the department has introduced strict monitoring measures and issued an urgent advisory for vehicle drivers to maintain controlled speeds and exercise extreme caution while travelling the highway.
The forest department expressed hope that these advance preparations will help ensure the safety of both wildlife and the general public during the possible flood situation.
