On March 20, a Division Bench consisting of Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Maoj Jain is anticipated to hear the case

Digital Desk: Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, has filed a challenge in the Delhi High Court against each of the nine summonses that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sent him about the Delhi Excise Policy case.

On March 20, a Division Bench consisting of Justices Suresh Kumar Kait and Maoj Jain is anticipated to hear the case.

News Agency ANI says, “Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal moves Delhi High Court challenging all summons issued to him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in excise policy case. Delhi HC's division bench to hear the matter tomorrow, 20th March.”

ED has sent 9 summons to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal. ED had sent the first summons to Arvind Kejriwal on 2nd November, after which ED issued the second summons on 21st November. ED again sent summons on 21 November, 3 January, 2 February, 19 February, 26 February, 4 March and then the 9th summons on 17 March. However, on behalf of CM Kejriwal and all AAP leaders, all these summons have been described as illegal.

ED has been sending summons to Arvind Kejriwal on some consecutive days since last year. However, Arvind Kejriwal is not appearing before the ED. ED says that it wants to interrogate Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy scam case. However, many Aam Aadmi Party leaders say that ED wants to arrest CM Kejriwal. AAP leaders have even alleged that as part of a conspiracy, the ED wants to arrest Arvind Kejriwal before the Lok Sabha elections.

AAP and BJP have come face to face on the summons of ED. Recently, BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra targeted CM Kejriwal and said that Kejriwal is giving 18 excuses for nine summons. Those holding press conferences day and night are running away from ED summons. Sambit Patra has also advised Arvind Kejriwal that he should not try to consider bail as a relief.
