The accused identified as Shihsad of Ponnyam Palam in Kannur will be detained in connection with the cruel act, Thalasserry police said.
Digital Desk: Police detained the culprit on Friday morning after a video of a young man kicking a six-year-old boy severely for leaning on his car went viral on social media. The boy's parents are migrants from Rajasthan.
The accused identified as Shihsad of Ponnyam Palam in Kannur will be detained in connection with the cruel act, Thalasserry police said.
The DIG for Kannur Range, Rahul R. Nair said that the police will take strict action against him.
Notably, Shihsad has been charged with attempting to murder.
Moreover, it was reported that the incident took place at Thalasserry, at around 8 PM on Thursday.
Ganesh, a young balloon seller, approached Shihshad's car as it was parked on the side of the road and leaned against it.
When Shihshad came back, he got furious and kicked the boy's back violently. Although some auto drivers nearby tried to question Shihsad, he got into his car and left

Kerala's Child Rights Commission has requested a police report on the incident.
According to the panel's chairman KV Manoj Kumar, the family of Ganesh would receive the most support possible and the commission will take action.
Minister Veena George stated that the Woman and Child Development Department would see to Ganesh and his family's medical needs as well as their legal protection. She said, "This is so startling and cruel."
