On Wednesday, an autopsy will be performed at SSKM Hospital in Kolkata to determine the cause of death.

Digital Desk: The death of iconic singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, well known as KK, has been investigated by the Kolkata Police Department as an unnatural death. The incident was reported to the New Market Police Department.

After returning from a gig in Kolkata on Tuesday, May 31, the singer fainted at the Grand Hotel, which is located near the New Market police station, and was brought to a private hospital in the city, where he was declared dead.

His face and head were injured, according to police sources. On Wednesday, an autopsy will be performed at SSKM Hospital in Kolkata to determine the cause of death. The police will examine the Grand Hotel's CCTV footage and speak with hotel workers and event organisers.

With A R Rahman's famous songs 'Kalluri Saaley' and 'Hello Doctor,' KK earned his start as a playback singer.

He began his Bollywood career by singing a short bit of Gulzar's Maachis' 'Chhod Aaye Hum.'

However, the enormously popular 'Tadap tadap ke' from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999 was his first full-fledged Bollywood song.

After the postmortem, KK's mortal remains would be handed over to his family. An investigation into the matter is currently underway. The investigators are currently awaiting the preliminary postmortem report.

KK was one of the most versatile singers in the Indian cinema industry, having recorded songs in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali, among other languages.

Soon after his death, messages of grief, tribute, and condolences began to stream in. The country lost a gem, and it is also a huge loss to the Indian music Industry.
