Digital Desk: A heated land dispute in Tiplai Barpathar, Goalpara, took a violent turn as 125 betel nut trees were cut down in a betel garden owned by a woman named Zarina Khatun.


The incident took place on the morning of July 11, shortly after an investigation into the land case was conducted by the Rangjuli Revenue Circle.


Police personnel were also present during the investigation at the scene.


The confrontation involved two groups. The group that carried out the destruction of the trees was led by Abdul Jalil.


During the altercation, a 9-year-old boy, Atif Islam, sustained injuries.


Following the incident, authorities arrested two of the accused, Hasem Ali and Sahjahan Ali, as investigations into the matter continue.
