CBI has filed a chargesheet against Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, his parents, and former chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav...

Digital Desk: In a major setback for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the CBI has filed a chargesheet against Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, his parents, and former chief ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi in the land-for-jobs scam.

Tejashwi and Lalu Yadav have been at the forefront of efforts to unite the opposition, and they played a crucial role in organizing the June 23 mega meeting of 16 opposition parties in Patna

The land-for-jobs scam involves people allegedly being given jobs at the Indian Railways between 2004 and 2009, when Lalu Yadav was railway minister, in exchange for land parcels being gifted or sold at low prices to the Yadav family.

In March, the CBI questioned Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi in connection with the case. The couple and their daughter Misa Bharti were also implicated in an earlier chargesheet filed in the case last year.

Reportedly, the new chargesheet was filed based on documents and evidence discovered after the initial chargesheet was submitted. The CBI has also named AK Infosystems and many intermediaries in the case, according to reports.
