Digital Desk: A leopard has caused a reign of terror at a neighourhood in Assam’s Jorhat district on Monday, hurting at least six people in the vicinity. 

The incident occurred close to the Rain Forest Research Institute.
 
According to authorities, the enraged leopard initially attacked a family consisting of a father, mother, and their two children in the district's Sotai neighbourhood. 

After receiving the report, forest officials went to the scene with rifles and firecrackers to chase the leopard away from the residential area. 

They reported that two forest authorities were injured throughout the experience.

In the meantime, the injured were taken to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) for treatment.
 
A man was severely injured in a leopard assault in Guwahati's Ganeshpara area earlier yesterday. 

According to reports, the victim man was attacked when he was taking a bath beside a well at his home.
 
Locals claimed that the leopard had been terrorising the area.
