The Mazbat police station had to travel 14 kilometres through the forests to reach the location. 


Digital Desk:  A lightning strike in Assam's Udalguri district killed two minor girls, ages 13 and 15, and a 20-year-old pregnant lady on Monday night. Reportedly, the woman was seven months pregnant.


The incident happened in the Mazbat area of Alaisri village on the border between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. As per reports, lightning struck the trio while they were eating dinner, instantly killing them. The lightning strike also killed a few sheep in the area.


The Mazbat police station had to travel 14 kilometres through the forests to reach the location. The bodies were then transported to Mazbat and sent for a post-mortem exam.


An official from the Udalguri district administration said, "Three women were killed in a lightning strike, according to the information we got. Police and district administration officials arrived on the scene, and we are now attempting to provide all possible assistance to the victims' relatives. It is quite unfortunate that such an incident occurred in our district."
