Parliament Live updates on Budget Session 2022 India, The Delhi Municipal Corporation (A) Bill, 2022 was passed by the Lok Sabha after a debate on The Chartered Accountants, Cost and Works Accountants, and Company Secretaries (A) Bill, 2021.

Digital Desk: The Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022, was passed by the Lok Sabha on Wednesday to unite Delhi's three municipal corporations. In response to a question about the MCD unification Bill, Union Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the bill is within the authority granted to Parliament under Section 239 AA. He previously stated that the Delhi government has a "step-mother" approach toward MCDs while addressing the Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022. He further stated that because Delhi is the national capital and the President's residence, the PMO, secretariats, and other significant locations are all located here, the three civic organisations must do their jobs correctly. The Lok Sabha will discuss the Delhi Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2022, which intends to consolidate the national capital's three municipal corporations into a single organisation. The bill proposes to modify the Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957, to effectively reverse a 2011 amendment to the Act that divided the old Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) into three independent municipal corporations: North, South, and East Delhi.  The Rajya Sabha passed the Constitution (Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes) Orders (Amendment) Bill, 2022. The Bhogta community is not included in Jharkhand's Scheduled Castes list. According to an agency's input, The three Delhi municipal corporations — North, South, and East Delhi Municipal Corporations — currently have 272 seats, with the North and South corporations each having 104 seats and the East corporation having 64.
