Digital Desk: Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference chief Dr Farooq Abdullah slammed the BJP on Thursday, saying that the party only uses Ram's name to remain in power, but Ram is not Hindus god alone.

"Bhagwan Ram is not just a Hindu deity. Kindly let this concept go from your head. Bhagwan Ram is the god of everyone who believes in him, whether they are Muslims, Christians, Americans, or Russians," he told at a rally organized by the Panthers party.

"Those who come to you and claim we are only Ram's disciples are fools. They want to sell under the name Ram. "They are not interested in Ram, but in power," he added.

"I think that when elections are announced in J&K, the Ram temple will be inaugurated to divert the attention of the common man," he said.

In terms of non-BJP party unity, he stated, "There will be no barriers to our alliance. Whether it be the Panthers, NC, or Congress. We will battle and die for the sake of the people. But we will all stand together." He raised concerns about electronic voting machines and urged people to exercise caution when using them.

He also warned against religious polarisation ahead of the Union Territory poll. "They will use the phrase 'Hindus are in danger' a lot during the elections... but I strongly urge you not to fall for it."
