Digital Desk: Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have yet again revised the prices of commercial LPG cylinders, imposing an increase of Rs 21 per cylinder across various regions in the country. Effective from December 1, this hike is set to impact businesses reliant on these cylinders, particularly the restaurant and food industries, potentially leading to increased expenses for dining out patrons.

The revised rates peg a 19 kg LPG cylinder at Rs 1796.50 in Delhi, Rs 1908 in Kolkata, Rs 1749 in Mumbai, and Rs 1968.50 in Chennai, reflecting an escalation from previous prices. Just last month, these cylinders were priced at Rs 1775.50 in Delhi, Rs 1885.50 in Kolkata, Rs 1728 in Mumbai, and Rs 1942 in Chennai.

This recent increase follows a pattern of fluctuations in rates, with a Rs 100 rise on November 1 and a subsequent reduction of Rs 57 on November 16.

However, in a silver lining for domestic consumers, the price of the 14.2 kg LPG gas cylinder remains unchanged at Rs 903. This cylinder, predominantly used in household kitchens, had earlier witnessed a reduction of Rs 200, providing relief to household budgets.

Simultaneously, OMCs have also decreased Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices by 4.6 percent, marking the second reduction in a month. With revised rates of Rs 1,06,155.67 in Delhi, Rs 1,44,639.70 in Kolkata, Rs 99,223.44 in Mumbai, and Rs 1,09,966.39 in Chennai, the lowered ATF costs could potentially ease the financial burden on commuters and render air travel more affordable for domestic airlines.
