Digital Desk: During the cultural evening of the Bohagi Festival organised by the Notun Bazaar Combined Cultural Forum in Majuli on May 5th, 2025, renowned artist Zubeen Garg expressed his thoughts while promoting the film "Bhaimon Da."

He stated, "Ministers and MLAs show up during elections, but they fail to deliver real work. Take Bimal Bora as an example, he holds the post of Cultural Minister, but does he actually contribute to culture? Give me one bigha land, and I will build a cinema hall in Majuli. Even if the government can't do it, I will. It's not a big deal."

Following his announcement to construct a cinema hall in Majuli, several locals came forward offering their land for the project. However, before this dream could materialize, the beloved artist tragically died on September 19.

On October 31, the release day of Zubeen Garg's much-anticipated film "Roi Roi Binale," fans across the state flocked to cinema halls from early morning to watch the movie.

Unfortunately, the people of Majuli were deprived of this opportunity due to the absence of a cinema hall in the region.

This situation has led the residents of Majuli to feel pressing need for a cinema hall and has prompted them to openly appeal to entrepreneurs from Majuli and Assam to step forward and establish one.

Meanwhile, several young local entrepreneurs in Majuli have expressed their desire to set up a small cinema hall, recognising its necessity for the community.
