 Digital Desk: According to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, West Bengal would soon have seven new districts as a result of the cabinet's approval of the plan.

Berhampore, Kandi, Sunderbans, Bashirhat, Ichamati, Ranaghat, and Bishnupur are the new districts, bringing the total to 30.

According to Ms. Banerjee, the plan was approved by the state cabinet today.

According to a top state government official, the decision was made to maintain efficient administrative operations.
