Digital Desk: A 29-year-old man was arrested for raping a pregnant cow. The incident occurred on Wednesday, in the South 24 Parganas district's Namkhana block's North Chandanpidi area.

Following a complaint from the owner of the pregnant cow, Pradyut Bhuiya, the accused, was taken into custody.

Aarti Bhuiya, a resident of North Chandanpidi, and his family reportedly claimed that their neighbour, Pradyut, had recently entered the cattle shed behind their home and "brutally raped" one of their cows.

The complainant stated that "the cow died owing to heavy bleeding after being raped at around midnight."

"Numerous accusations have been made against Pradyut. Previously, he had burglarized fields and stolen goats, cars, and vegetables "reported a citizen of the village of Chandanpidi.

"The boy should be adequately punished for his inhumane crime," he added.
