A man from Delhi’s Shahdara area has been arrested by the Ghazaibad Police for selling as many as 638 empty oxygen cylinders to people in Ghazibad. The man was selling the cylinders at prices as high as Rupees 10,000 to 30,000, as confirmed by Senior Superintendent of Police Amit Pathak.

The Ghaziabad Police have seized the cylinders from a factory premises in Sahibad site-4 Industrial Area.

Such incidents in India have stared occurring in heavy numbers since the country saw a rise in the number of Covid-19 cases. The country is facing a shortage of medical supplies. Oxygen cylinders and concentrators are especially hard to source in this current situation.
