Digital Desk: A man allegedly chopped a man's neck and attempted to drink his blood in Chintamani taluk of this district, suspecting him of having an affair with his wife, according to police.

Police detained the accused on Sunday after learning about the crime via a video of the incident that circulated.

According to authorities, the event occurred on June 19, and the victim survived the attack.

According to authorities, the perpetrator, Vijay, and the victim, Maresh, both lived in the same neighbourhood. Vijay accused Maresh of having an affair with his wife, so he and his relative John Babu escorted him to a distant location in Siddappalli on June 19 under the guise of some work.

While questioning Maresh over an alleged affair with his wife, Vijay allegedly cut his throat and attempted to drink the gushing blood while John Babu recorded the incident on his phone, according to authorities.

Maresh was able to reach the hospital for treatment after the couple departed the scene, according to police sources.

When authorities learned about the event and the video, they tracked down Maresh, recorded his statement, and arrested Vijay and John Babu.
