Digital Desk:  A man in his mid-40s broke into West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee's private residence in South Kolkata's Kalighat in the early hours of Sunday.

Concerns have arisen regarding how he managed to enter the Z category security zone and spend the night at the house undetected after the incident, which created a security scare.

According to police, the suspect sneaked into Banerjee's home at 34B Harish Chatterjee Street at one in the morning by scaling a wall. He spent the night inside the house, sitting in a corner, and security personnel didn't spot him until the morning.

Later, the suspect was handed over to the local police station. To determine whether the man is mentally unstable, the cops are questioning him. According to an officer speaking to PTI, "They alerted the Kalighat Police Station who detained the individual."
