Vaishnav and Deva, who hails from Kerala, have been living together in Bengaluru for almost two years...

Digital Desk: A 29-year-old man has been arrested after killing his live-in partner at their rented Bengaluru home using a pressure cooker, reports emerged on Sunday.

The incident took place at around 5 pm on Saturday when the two got into an argument over the man's suspicion that his partner was cheating on him, police officials stated.

According to the police, Vaishnav and Deva (both 24), who are both from Kerala, have been living together in Bengaluru for almost two years. They worked for a sales and marketing company in Bengaluru's Koramangala and they knew each other from college.

Vaishnav allegedly killed Deva by hitting her with a pressure cooker after a fight on Saturday. The matter came to light when Deva's sister could not reach her on the phone and contacted her neighbour. Later, the neighbour informed the police.

As per reports, Vaishnav was on the run after the incident, but police tracked him and arrested him.

The couple's parents knew that they were living together, police said. Additionally, they were aware of their problems and had made an effort to settle them over Vaishnav's concerns. Police have been informed by neighbours that the two of them often quarrel.

"I met the woman's parents when I visited the spot. They told me that the two had been fighting over the past several days. The family had also tried to sort out the issue," Deputy Commissioner of Police for Bengaluru South-East division CK Baba, said.

A case has been registered against Vaishnav and further probe is on.
