Digital Desk: A brazen bike-borne burglar targeted the recently inaugurated Nilachal flyover in Guwahati and stole several lights that adorned the structure.

Modern lighting fixtures were used on the flyover, which was opened last month, to illuminate the building at night. Both locals and law enforcement were startled by the thief's daring.

A nearby resident captured the thief's action on camera, and it shows the biker skillfully placing a light onto his motorcycle and dismounting a light.

As many as 600 of the 1,300 lights that the flyover's contractor reportedly placed before it was inaugurated have already been stolen, according to sources. The police detained three suspected thieves after receiving a report about the thefts.

The most recent theft, however, has demonstrated that there are more of these thieves on the loose.
