Man strangulates wife to death, hides body in sack and flees

Guwahati: A man strangled his wife to death in Guwahati’s Hatigaon as sensation prevailed in the area after the dead-body was recovered.

As per reports, the couple had been residing in the area for the past 8 years and often quarreled, as said by the neighbours. After killing his wife, the man tied the body in a sack and left it under the bed and fled from the scene.

The accused identified as Moinul Haque is on the run since last Sunday night when the incident took place. The victim has been identified as Rashida Begum.

The accused ran off with their only child. A major man-hunt has been launched by the Hatigaon police to find the accused.
