New Delhi: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Defence Research and Development have together launched a specially developed bike ambulance ‘RAKSHITA’.

This specially developed bike ambulance will cater to urgent evacuation needs of the security force personnel in event of a medical emergency or battle injury in Naxal affected areas.

Feeling a rising need for such bikes in times of crisis and in difficult terrains as well as in tensed areas, the CRPF proposed to develop one such bike ambulance. There have been instances where medical facilities couldn’t reach on time and a delay in medical assistance ended up making the patients’ situation more critical.
