Digital Desk: In a disturbing incident, a 23-year-old woman in Digha, Navi Mumbai, has become the victim of domestic violence allegedly perpetrated by her husband and two relatives. The Rabale MIDC police registered an offense based on the woman's complaint, revealing a distressing narrative of opposition to her choice of fashionable bangles.

The victim lodged a complaint against her husband, Pradeep Arkade (30), who vehemently opposed her wearing stylish bangles. The situation escalated on November 13 when a heated argument ensued. During the altercation, the woman's 50-year-old mother-in-law reportedly pulled her by the hair and subjected her to multiple slaps. The husband, Pradeep Arkade, then resorted to physical violence, thrashing her with a belt. Shockingly, a female relative also participated, pushing the victim to the ground and joining in the assault.

Following the harrowing incident, the victim went to her parents' house in Pune and filed a complaint. Subsequently, the case was transferred to Navi Mumbai for investigation.

A case has been registered against the accused trio under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 34 (common intention), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and 506 (criminal intimidation), the police said.
