Digital Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA), in a joint operation with Assam Police, has arrested Md. Noor Hussain from Silchar, Cachar District, Assam, in connection with a bomb blast that rocked Kwakta, Bishnupur District, Manipur, on June 21, 2023. This operation stems from a joint effort to bring justice to those affected by the incident.
The case was initially registered by Manipur Police under FIR no. 635(6)2023 on June 21 at PGCI Police Station, Sub Division Moirang, Bishnupur District, Manipur, and subsequently transferred to the NIA on June 23, 2023, in Imphal.
NIA's investigations in RC 01/2023/NIA/IMP have revealed Md. Noor Hussain's alleged involvement in the bomb blast. The explosion occurred when an IED-laden Scorpio vehicle was parked over a bridge in the area of Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai and Kwakta along Tiddim road in Bishnupur District, causing injuries to three individuals and extensive damage to the bridge and nearby houses.
The NIA has stated that further investigations into this case are currently underway.
