Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh is likely to tender his resignation on Friday...

Digital Desk: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh is likely to tender his resignation on Friday as the state's law and order situation worsens due to ethnic violence.

Reportedly, he is scheduled to hand over his resignation to Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at 1 p.m. on Friday.

According to reports, CM N Biren Singh was given the choice of putting in his paper, or the Centre would step in and take things over.

In response to these reports, a group of women assembled outside the Manipur chief minister's secretariat and Raj Bhavan on Friday, requesting Singh not to resign.

Instead, they urged the chief minister to establish a "firm stand against the troublemakers," according to PTI.
