Digital Desk: A heavy gunfight between militants of Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) and Manipur rebels killed at least 10 militants and injured several others. The major fight erupted near the Indo-Myanmar border, adjacent to the Kamjong district of Manipur in the early morning of Monday and lasted for several hours. The gunfire exchange killed 10 KNA-B cadres, while the casualties suffered by Manipur rebels were not disclosed.


Following the incident, several weapons were recovered from the gunfire site. According to an Imphal-based media house, the gunfight started at 2.30 am on Monday and continued till 6 am.


The gunfight erupted after an attack was initiated by the KNA-B cadres on the camp of Manipur insurgents in the Indo-Myanmar border area.
