Digital Desk: With the recovery of two additional Territorial Army personnel bodies this morning, the dead toll from the landslide in Manipur's Noney district has risen to 10.

Seven members of the Territorial Army (TA) and a civilian were among the eight people who died in the avalanche that occurred on Wednesday night at the 107 Territorial Army Camp beside the Tupul Yard Railway building site.

Additionally, up to 50 other people, including 23 TA jawans, were listed as missing. A railway line being built from Jiribam district to Imphal, the state capital, is secured by the Territorial Army.

Along with the federal and state disaster teams, search activities are being carried out by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Territorial Army.

In order to make the accident scene accessible and aid in the rescue operations, bulldozers and other engineering tools are being employed.

"To find troops buried in the wreckage, a thorough wall radar is also being injected by air. Additionally, a search and rescue dog will be introduced "according to officials.

Five civilians and 13 members of the Territorial Army have so far been saved. The hunt for the missing individuals will go on all day, according to the authorities.

The landslide blocked a river's flow, forming a dam-like water body that, if the debris are cleared away, might cause floods in low-lying areas, resulting in a complex calamity.
