Digital Desk: The Manipur government has signed an agreement with the Times group to host the 59th edition of the Femina Miss India 2023 grand finale in April next year.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Times Group managing director Vineet Jain were present at the partnership agreement signing event.

"This is the first time that the prestigious event will be hosted in the North East. It shows the increased interest in the region, particularly by investors in Manipur," the chief minister said after signing the agreement at the CM Bungalow on Thursday.

The agreement was signed by the Department of Tourism of the Government of Manipur and the organizers of Miss India.

"It demonstrates the state's growing confidence in the security scenario and investment prospects," Singh added.

"The major goal of this agreement is to celebrate the diverse and inclusive Indian culture and to inspire and empower the local youths by accepting the best of India's talents," the chief minister said, adding that it will provide an opportunity to highlight the state's rich cultural legacy.
