The mart will showcase the tourism potential and cultural abundance of the eight northeast states, as well as sightseeing visits to a tourist resort in Reiek.

Digital Desk: For the first time, Mizoram will host the 10th International Tourism Mart in Aizawl. G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of Union Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), inaugurated the International Tourism Mart in Aizawl on Thursday, November 17th. The event is a collaboration between the Union Tourism Ministry and the Mizoram Tourism Department to highlight the Northeast's tourism potential in both domestic and international markets.

The mart will showcase the tourism potential and cultural abundance of the eight northeast states, as well as sightseeing visits to a tourist resort in Reiek. According to G. Kishan Reddy, the International Tourism Mart will focus on the 'G20 priorities for tourism track' because India will be in power for a year, from the 1st of December 2022 to the 30th of November 2023. Reddy urged everyone to use the G20 meetings to highlight cultural diversity. The primary focus has been decided to be on increasing global funding in all sectors such as entertainment centers, wellness, and tourism stated Reddy during Mart's inauguration.

In the Mega event, Reddy, who also holds the Tourism and Cultural portfolios, mentions how the NDA government has successfully restored peace in some troubled northeastern areas through significant development. The Union Government is now leaning toward infrastructure development in the northeast. Because the public expects the region's overall development to improve now that the situation has improved, the Centre is carrying out a number of development activities. He also discussed the status of 100 roadside facilities, including viewpoints in the northeast.

According to the Union Minister, the northeastern region has enormous tourism potential. He also revealed plans to establish a National Digital Tourism Mission to promote tourism in the country. This is the first time Mizoram is hosting the International Tourism Mart; previously, the mart has been held in Guwahati, Agartala, Gangtok, Shillong, and a few other northeastern states.
