Digital Desk: The Margherita police has achieved another significant breakthrough in their ongoing anti-drug operations.


Earlier this afternoon, a joint effort by the Lekhapani and Jagun police led to the seizure of 58 grams of illegal heroin.


Acting on a tip-off from a confidential source, the authorities intercepted a Maruti Swift bearing registration number AS23AF5226 travelling from Jagun towards Leedu at the 5 Miles checkpoint.


Upon conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, the police discovered 58 grams of heroin concealed in five containers.


The operation also resulted in the arrest of the suspected supplier, 21-year-old Vishal Borgohain.


It is reported that Vishal Borgohain's residence is in Fulbari village under Jagun police jurisdiction.


Further investigation revealed that he has a criminal history, having previously served two jail sentences for similar offenses.


The seized heroin is estimated to have a market value of Rs 2,50,000. The public has widely lauded the Lekhapani police for their commendable efforts in this successful operation.
