Digital Desk: A massive fire broke out late on Friday night in PM SHRI Dudhnoi Girls' Higher Secondary School in Samajila, Dudhnoi, leaving the entire region in panic and resulting in significant damage.


The fire allegedly broke out at about 11 PM, sweeping through sections of the school building. Three classrooms, a huge hall, several computers, and some crucial documents were destroyed totally by the fire. The school's furniture, which comprised desks and benches, was also set ablaze.


Thanks to the swift response of local people and the Fire and Emergency Services, the fire was kept in check before it could spread any further. But the damage that has happened is still serious.


Tragically, a burnt body was found in one of the classrooms during the process of rescue and cleaning. The police later confirmed that the dead man was Bivekananda Rabha a Grade IV staff member of the school. His identity was confirmed by family members.


The cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Authorities have launched a formal investigation to ascertain how the incident occurred and whether foul play was involved. The discovery of the body has shocked the local community and added a tragic dimension to an already devastating event.


Local authorities and school administrators are now reviewing the extent of the damage and planning next steps, such as safety inspections and rebuilding plans. The school is closed until notice.
