The notice noted that the Immovable Property Return for the year 2023 should be filed online...

Digital Desk: The Ministry of Home Affairs ordered all Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across the country to file their immovable property return 2023 by January 31, 2023.

This decision was communicated via a written note addressed earlier this week to the Chief Secretaries and Director Generals of Police (DGP) of all state governments and Union Territories (UTs).

The notice noted that the Immovable Property Return for the year 2023 should be filed online at either https://ips.gov.in or https://sparrow-ips.eoffice.gov.in using an existing nic-e-Mail ID and password.

On December 11, a letter titled 'Online filing of Immovable Property Return (IPR-2023) by IPS officials' was issued, reminding officers of Rule 16 (2) of the All India Services (Conduct) Rules 1968, which requires them to file their IPR by January 31 of each year for the preceding year ending December 31.

The email also stated a 'User Manual' that may be found on the SPARROW (Smart Performance Appraisal Report Recording) welcome page to help officers complete the online IPR.
